Level: Introductory Saturday, Nov. 5th , 1 hour Working with recent research out of Oxford by Dr. Anne Jensen we’ve applied ma- chine learning techniques and sensors from smart phones to detect the bodies initial re- sponse to exogenous and endogenous stimulus, such as: thoughts, emotions, substances and environmental elements. During this session you will observe a demonstration and participate in using the technology (if you have an iPhone) anyone interested in learn- ing more about themselves. Biography: Mike is a Co-founder of 1Apeiron, a venture incubator that helps start- ups with strategy and financing needs. Prior to 1Apeiron, Mike helped lead the inter- national expansion of Groupon throughout the Middle East and Asia. Before Grou- pon, Mike was involved with 2 successful startups that ignited his entrepreneurial fire. Currently Mike is dedicated to the development of Sensie an application that detects the response of the body to different stimulus, known as an intuition trainer. Mike also leads Consciousness Hacking in Miami Beach and is involved in the startup commu- nity, offering advisory and business development services to tech companies. To find balance, Mike is a certified yoga teacher offering weekly classes in Miami and leading international yoga and meditation retreats. Hanno W. Kirk, Ph.D. Buddhism and Neurofeedback: A conversations with the Dalai Lama Level: Introductory Saturday, Nov. 5th 1 hour This session will recount the 2014 effort to train doctors of Tibetan medicine to use Neurofeedback in the treatment of Tibetan refugees suffering from PTSD after torture at hands of Chinese. The story continues with the follow up trip in 2015 where there were surprise find- ings about the cultural differences in the reaction to trauma. The Dalai Lama expressed interest in these findings, and invited three of us for private audience to discuss Neuro- feedback and how it can be used alongside traditional Tibetan medicine. Biography: Hanno Kirk has been an Educator, Speaker, and Psychotherapist for 35 years. He has taught in graduate schools of social work, and in medical schools. In his private practice he is using neurofeedback with veterans, as well as children with ASD and behavioral problems. His most recent publication is the book he edited Restoring
