Kirk, Ph.D. Neurofeedback: Advances in technology, in theoretical foundations, and training modalities Course Level: Intermediate to Advanced Friday, November 4th, 8:30- 5:00pm (1 hour lunch) 7.5 hours This workshop will recount the clinical experience of the symptom based NF training and its evolution into the infra low frequency domain. It will ref- erence the research by David Kaiser into the critical regulatory role of astroglia. It will cover how initial placements are determined. Slides from the Connectome Project will explain the “global effect” on brain functioning. Live demonstration of the process will be open for volunteers. Biography: Hanno Kirk has been an Educator, Speaker, and Psychotherapist for 35 years. He has taught in graduate schools of social work, and in medical schools. In his private practice he is using neurofeedback with veterans, as well as children with ASD and behavioral problems. His most recent publication is the book he edited Restoring the Brain: Neurofeedback as an Integrative Approach to Health (2015). He recently returned from Dharamsala, India where he had the opportunity to explain and discuss Neurofeedback and its common goals with Buddhist practice with the Dalai Lama.
